James Franco dubs bad videogame lines as Tommy Wiseau

With THE DISASTER ARTIST finally released, director/star James Franco is hot on the publicity tour. He stopped by IGN’s UP AT NOON LIVE! to redub bad videogame lines as Tommy Wiseau, to pretty hilarious results. I was iffy about Franco when he was first cast – as well as the first trailers – but his impression has grown on me. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but it definitely gets the job done.

And while it’s chuckle-worthy when he’s saying classic lines like “It’s-a me, Mario!” and “Get over here!” in Wiseau’s voice,
it’s especially hilarious when he merges that cadence with legitimately ludicrous lines, such as “Do you believe love can bloom on the battlefield?” from METAL GEAR SOLID. Even Franco has to admit that sounded like a Tommy line. Anyway, you can watch the rest in the embed above.

Meanwhile, THE DISASTER ARTIST is playing in select theaters right now!
