Have you ever dreamed of going on an exciting adventure in a magical world, filled with uncertainty and endless possibility? I once did too, and then I grew up, saw my first rent bill and was like, “Oh god this adulting thing is real!” But we still have the movies that allow us to tap into that more imaginative self, and the new trailer for A WRINKLE IN TIME promises a movie that will sweep us off our feet and into a world of pure imagination. I stole that "imagination" bit from WILLY WONKA, which was very unimaginative of me, I know. Still…just watch the trailer.
Based on the trailer alone we can see that Ava DuVernay has crafted a visual feast for the eyes that utilizes lavish costumes, stellar makeup, and gobsmacking effects. Even those not entirely familiar with the book will find something astonishing in the footage to drag them to the theater, one reason surely being for the terrific ensemble cast including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and the young Storm Reid. Now that last bit I did not steal from WILLY WONKA. Or did I?
