Arnold Schwarzenegger updates on Twins sequel, his director dream list, and the role he wished he’d never turned down

This week Arnold Schwarzenegger jumps back into the film business after a long hiatus as Governor of California.  The actor has a number of high-profile projects lined up and seems to be unfazed as to whether or not people are ready for his return or not.  Hey, he said he’d be back…he didn’t say you had to like it.  Schwarzenegger took to Reddit yesterday and did a Q&A session via his iPad, answering fan questions and coming off as a really genuine and cool guy.  He touched on his future projects, politics, his favorite movie lines, and the role he wished he hadn’t turned down.

Check out the highlights:

When asked what role he regretted not doing the most:

“I most regret not doing THE ROCK. I love the movie, and it turned out well. When it was offered to me there was only an 80 page script with a lot of handwriting and scribbles and it didn’t seem fully baked. But they obviously did a fantastic job.”

When asked if a sequel to TWINS with Eddie Murphy was really happening:

“Yes, we will make Twins II with Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy.”

When asked which directors he’d most like to work with:

“I would like to work with Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg. Also Sam Raimi would be great to work with.”

When asked about some of his famous lines from PREDATOR:

“Get to Choppa was in the script. Stick around was ad lib, as are some of the more wild one-liners.”

When asked what his favorite line from any movie was:

“Favorite line from any movie: From someone else’s movie:

“Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”

From my movies… I’ll be back.

And from THE LAST STAND: You fucked up my day off”

Lastly, when asked which job he found more difficult, acting or being Governor:

“Being Governor was the most challenging job. Acting was the most fun.”

Short and sweet.  Arnold engaged quite a few folks with kind words and encouragement, offering his usual blend of “never give up” inspiration banter that he’s known for.  Interestingly enough, Arnold used his iPad to write responses and post them as images, which was kind of cool as it proved it was really him and gave fans a “live chat autograph” of sorts, which is the first time I’ve seen anything like that done.

I’m looking forward to having ol’ Arnie back, especially with some of the films he’s got lined up.  THE LAST STAND opens this Friday, January 18th, while his next outing, THE TOMB, co-starring Sylvester Stallone, opens on September 27, 2013.  His follow up to that is the recently wrapped TEN, from director David Ayer, and a bevy of other projects in development, including a proper sequel to CONAN THE BARBARIAN.
