Anna and the Apocalypse is a high school-zombie-horror-comedy-musical!

Whenever watching or critiquing a film, there are always things that you weigh more or less when grading the overall experience. Maybe you enjoy action more than others, so you'll forgive shoddy plotting or characterization if the action is cool enough, or vice-versa. As for me personally, I always weigh ambition over most things. Even if a film doesn't stick the landing, or fumbles the execution in some way, I'll often still enjoy the experience more than a more competent but less ambitious film.

This is all to say that I can't wait to watch ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE, a Christmas set high school-zombie-horror-comedy-musical that looks as gory as it is funny and energetic. It's surprising that we haven't had a horror musical in a while, and especially not a zombie-themed one (though apparently Disney is working on one as well now, though I doubt it will be as gruesome). Anyway, the trailer looks fun, so I'm definitely going to check this one out!

Also, here's the official synopsis for this crazy thing:

A girl and her friends must fight – and sing – their way through a zombie invasion to reach the supposed safety of their school, not knowing if their parents and friends will still be alive when they get there.

Meanwhile, ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE will have limited release September 22nd.
