UPDATE: Since I was not at Comic-Con, I've been informed by a few schmoes that this is not the final costume. Reader Unruhss noted that Joe Johnston and Kevin Feige said that they filmed the shot during costume test and assured that this was not the final suit. Thank you good sir!

Okay, so it's not a crystal clear picture, but it is a shot of Chris Evans in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.

The shot comes from reader, Hans Cholo who says the photo is a screenshot of the footage shown at Comic-Con. During the panel at Con, they managed to get something thrown together to show fans.

I think between this, THOR, and GREEN LANTERN, I'm most excited to see Cap do his thing.

It got me a little excited.

I'm optimistic. Joe Johnston will do just fine. Wolfman is really his only bad movie. I've sincerely enjoyed most of his movies, particularly October Sky and The Rocketeer. I'm convinced he was chosen for this because of how similar The Rocketeer is to Captain America. Hero story, set in the 40s, mild humor but mostly bad ass action and Nazi beat downs! That's why I have faith in Johnston....

As for Evans, it just depends on how he approaches the character. Captain America is the absolute most heroic, morally upstanding hero in the Marvel galaxy. He's not reluctant, whiny, jokey or sly. He is stoic, unwavering and proud to be in his position.

looks good, I'm sure this will be one of many suits Cap will wear in the film/films and eventually in the Avengers, he looks young because he's meant to, it's his origin story so we're dealing with a younger version of him, I'm sure he'll look much older or they'll age him a bit for the Avengers.

I gotta admit.. I groaned. I like Evans but when I heard he was Cap I immediately shot it down.. he's too young, too one dimensional, can't carry a franchise.. and I swept it under the rug. This picture makes me feel like that and it's a FUCKING PICTURE. I'll still hold out for a trailer.

this picture doesn't look clear at all, it would be a mistake to judge things to early; but we gotta put two things on the table; Joe Johnston is not a bad director but he is not famous for been an efficient narrator; but when it comes to action, the man delivers. This movie sure won't be a new breathe like iron man was(RDJ is a lot better actor than evans) but it will be entertaining that's...

Mark my words: this movie will suck. Joe Johnston is an incompetent hack and hasn't made a decent film in many years. Marvel is a studio that hit gold on its own only once and is now displaying over and over again why it needs major studios to rely on for support.

the only remaining thing i dont like about this movie is the subtitle. "the first avenger" haven't they learned from x-men? subtitles never sound cool. as for the costume it looks perfect for the WWII setting but i hope they go with something different for the avengers

I really like the picture. I hope this movie feels the same way that this picture does. People who are freaking out over this need to calm down. It's only one picture. I for one can't wait for this movie and to see it on the big screen. I think Evans is going to knock it out of the park and will surprise many of the haters out there. It happens when you refresh the page or by replying to another post. You have to leave this page and come back for it to reset itself. It is pretty annoying, and I'm wondering how hard it really would be give us a delete option, or just fix it period.
