This was directed by the same guy who did Behind Enemy Lines. Prince of Persia is being directed by Mike Newell who did Goblet of Fire, Donnie Brasco and Enchanted April. BioShock is being directed by Gore Verbinski who's done Pirates, and more importantly, Adaptation.
Three films which fill me with hope that video game flicks will some day get the respect comic book films currently enjoy. |

Yeah, I don't get why some people have to make a big deal everytime an action movie they thought was going to be R ends up being PG-13. An R rated film can suck just as bad as a PG-13. I mean which film was better Alone in the Dark or Casino Royale? Hannibal Rising or Bourne Ultimatum? Death Race or Dark Knight? I think you get my point...
Plus in this case it was the director's idea to get the PG-13 rating not the studio's, so really where's the problem? |

I am sure there will be an extended cut of some kind. The director says he didn't take too much out, but from what I understand the running time is about 86 minutes. Without the cuts it was about 99 minutes. When all is said and done, this could be worth while, or just completely blow. We will see if the Max Payne adaptation is on par with the stellar craftsmanship that was put into Silent Hill. Of course I knew Silent Hill would be good because I knew the director was an excellent craftsman. I know nothing of John Monroe: Fingers Crossed. |

But do your research. The director has stated that he is making a "Gamer's Cut" where the "little amount of violence" they did cut will be put back in, he said it won't be a bloodbath but might be more in-tune with what gamers want. Similar to the Unrated Die Hard 4. |
