T'Former writers steal Jun. 29, 2009

TRANSFORMERS guys Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are all over the place these days, writing and producing lots of big projects (maybe you saw STAR TREK, if not THE PROPOSAL, which they also produced).

Now they have another expensive project lined up at Paramount (who paid seven figures just for the pitch). It's an action-comedy called LICENSE TO STEAL, about repo agents who travel the world reclaiming high-price items like speedboats and private jets.

The movie will be based on a true story published at Salon.com. The script will be written by Shane Salerno, who is at least partially responsible for ARMAGEDDON and AVP: REQUIEM. Don't you wish you were a well-paid Hollywood hotshot screenwriter too?

Besides producing TV's "Fringe" (along with Bad Robot cohort JJ Abrams), Orci and Kurtzman are working on COWBOYS AND ALIENS, ATLANTIS RISING, THE 28th AMENDMENT and the TREK sequel.

Extra Tidbit: McG and Bryan Singer also reportedly wanted a shot at the repo project.

They write entertainment, that’s all. That’s what I look for when I go out to the movies, entertainment. Especially in the summer. You’re not going to find Oscar gold during this time. So shut your winey ass up, change your tampon, pop in Terms of Endearment into your DVD player or what have you, and relax. The rest of you, honestly it’s a fucking movie about toys, what do you expect it to be like, the next Citizen Kane or some other over rated crap film. My advice is to find a nice girlfriend/boyfriend (a real one, not an internet one) go out for a meal and get laid. Then maybe that’ll help you on your way to acting like little bitches with a scraped knee.

I don't care what anyone says, they are untalented hacks who can't write anything original, they adapt and destroy other peoples work (Tansformers, M:I-3, Star Trek) they can eat shit.

I seriously hope this huge workload doesn't affect the Star Trek script. I want a sophisticated sequel. Now that we have the reboot out of the way, they need to make the script as compelling as possible. If they do what they did to the Transformers sequel, we're in trouble.

Edit:

Wait a minute, Damon is writing the sequel?!

Alright then, can't fucking wait for Star Trek 2 then!!

They did a great job with Star Trek, but Transformers 2 was the biggest piece of shit I have seen in a long while. They're going to have to write their way back onto my positive side.

Those guys really are machines, but the problem I always had with their movies is that they always include pointless uninteresting subplots that make their movies boring at parts. But again, they do pump them out.
