The 2010 Golden Schmoes nominees are announced!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

UPDATE: Scott Pilgrim director Edgar Wright just wrote in to say:Very nice to be in the running. Glad those of you who voted had as much as a blast watching it as we did making it. Thanks to all you crazy schmoes out there!

The official nominations for the 10th
Annual JoBlo.com Movie Awards (aka the Golden Schmoes)
have been
compiled and the official voting will begin on Monday (February 14 – 24),
so sharpen
your fingernails and get ready to vote for your faves! The winners
will be announced on Friday, February 25th, just two days before those darn
"Oscar thingies" are handed out.

Directly below are the films which received the
most nominations. Seems like every year another record is broken in terms of the
most nominations of all-time (last year’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS had 18
nominations which beat out the previous record-holder THE DARK KNIGHT, which
had 16 nominations) and this year it was Nolan who was back again with INCEPTION,
which led the pack with 19 nominations overall (and that’s without
DiCaprio as a Best Actor nom — he did get the nom, but for SHUTTER ISLAND
instead).

The three other "big flicks" to
receive major nominations were THE SOCIAL NETWORK, BLACK SWAN
and SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD! That’s right, despite the latter film’s
lack of box-office success, JoBlo.com fans loved that shtuff and voted the
shit out of it. KICK-ASS and TRON: LEGACY also racked up 8
and 7
nominations respectively. Other films with a handful of
nominations include TRUE GRIT (6), TOY STORY 3 (5) and EASY A (4).

MOST NOMINATIONS
Inception
(19
nominations)
The Social Network (12 nominations)
Black Swan (12 nominations)
Scott Pilgrim vs the
World (11 nominations)
Kick-Ass (8
nominations)
Tron: Legacy (7
nominations)

Remember that
each person can vote only once for the Golden Schmoes, but you needn’t be a
member of our site to do so. We will also be running our 11TH
ANNUAL OSCAR PREDICTION CONTEST
this year, so stay tuned for that as well.
See
