I remember the rush of excitement and thank-god-they're-finally-doing-it-right relief I felt when I first saw the teaser site for BATMAN BEGINS, complete with the re-vamped Batman logo. It was dark, gritty, bold, industrial and was perfect at capturing the attitude and feel that Batman's relaunchers were going for and eventually achieved. Today brings a new chapter in Batman's 21st century cinematic re-emergence, as the teaser site for next summer's THE DARK KNIGHT has been launched, and a similarly ominous but awesome logo has been revealed. To be honest, I'm not quite sure what's happening here. It seems to be travelling at warp speed, causing it to break apart, and if that be the case, I'm curious as to what exactly that has to do with the film, but like I said before, it's cool so who really cares. Besides, after all those spy pics from the Chicago set and Heath Ledger-as-Joker fakes popping up, it's nice to finally get something official from Warners. THE DARK KNIGHT opens on July 18, 2008, and if you still don't believe that it's really happening, proof positive lies HERE.
Extra Tidbit:
I never actually thought Warner Bros. would stick to the title THE DARK KNIGHT, but to their credit, they did. Could this be the first superhero movie without their name in the title?

HMM...
I honestly think this it not really a logo but a screen cap of the teaser trailer coming soon. I think this because the picture is obviously widescreen (like most trailers are presented in) and seems blurry and not really sharp. Take the first movie teaser site. It had the orginal logo but the entire site was filled with this logo in the middle. The new site looks like they just slap a screenshot on a blank page. So brentage, a teaser trailer might not be too far off.. :D
Now, if they added zombies to the sequel, it will be #1 blockbuster hit! rofl! |

It's just simple teaser, probably it'll be not on poster or in the movie, but looks really cool. |

BERSERKER...
well how can I argue when you make a good point like "begins is genuinely a good movie"... you got me there (sarcasm:)).
Seriously though, I loved Memento, and I LOVE The Following. Insomnia for me was hit and miss at times... the story felt more staged then his other films, meaning plot points were made very obvious at times.. too obvious. And Batman begins was his version of a Comic Book movie, but not a re-invention of the comic book genre, like say what DeathProof is to slasher films (that's a loose example). Seriously lets not give these guys too much credit. We're not all story-tellers so we can't all go out and tell a story. FOr those of us that can, well we can't all tell great stories. Nolan and defenitely Goyer, couldn't tell a great story in this case. In fact, another big flaw this movie had was that its characters were extremely intelligent, and aside from the fact that the actors portraying them managed to convey the look of intelligence, the story wasn't there to support them, my opinion of course. And I say this for reasons I've mentioned in my past posts, and for others there's no need to get into since I'm sure you guys already want me hung by my balls for sounded like a complete dick (which I hope isn't the case). |

I think it looks great. It actually gives the impression that it's blowing up if you stare at it for a couple seconds.
Looks great to me! |
