BANE OF MY EXISTENCE!
Definitely Bane. He's one of the few characters in the Batman universe who could transition well into Chris Nolan's vision of a 'realistic' Gotham universe. Maybe Deadshot too. (I hate Riddler! He's just the Joker.. with less jokes and more puzzles) |

HARLEY QUINN COULD WORK
She wouldn`t have to be like she was in the cartoon. Think of her as a murderous psycho who is obsessed with the Joker`s legacy and believes she is continuing his work. And of course change her costume a bit. Look how darker Joker looks in TDK. |

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
I'd love to see The Riddler. Johnny Depp would do an awesome job by I agree with those who say that as an actor he may overshadow Bale, which isn't good for the film. Although they would have to recast, I'd love to see The Joker return in the next Batman flick. He may be different, a little, but it'll be awesome to see the character return. That being said, Ledger was awesome. R.I.P. It would have been so nice if the tragedy had never happened. |

CASTING CHOICES FOR THE RIDDLER
Hugo Weaving
Michael Emerson (he plays Ben on Lost)
Jeff Goldbloom ( he could use a hit again)
Ian McShane ( damn this guy can act his ass off!)
and finally
Michael C. Hall (he plays Dexter on the hit show, Dexter)
Yes Johnny Depp is great, but this role doesn't need a bigger name than Bale.

DAMION, I PARTIALLY AGREE
with you about Bane, anyway. I love HQ in the comics, and I think that her character was well used in the BIRDS OF PREY series, but that's about it for her.
But for the fucking life of me, I cannot believe that Catwoman is not #1. And I can't believe that Hush and Bane are on this list. They're both essentially the same character: They came out of nowhere, screwed up Batman's life, and were extremely lame characters even after we got their backstories. There's no way in Nolan's universe that either of these characters could work. Now, Selina Kyle, Edward Nigma and Floyd Lawton... those people could work. Lawton and his arm-magnums are a little far-fetched technologically, but then so is The Tumbler. So I can see that working. He would be a great enforcer. Selina would be a great character for Nolan by having her as the kind of character she is now in the comics: a protector of a different sort for the poor and downtrodden of Gotham who happens to be a thief as well. Nigma is a great intellectual foil for Batman. I also would love to see Talia Al Ghul. She'd be a great foil for Batman in Nolan's world. But the rest of these? Forget them. |

ME THINKS
Bane or Riddler should be portrayed next. I'd prefer Bane so the trilogy could end on a sad note for a change. Batman laid out, paralyzed, roll credits. That's be different.
And yes Catwoman has had her chance, Burton got it semi-right, but enough with Catwoman. That frech director guy really screwed up her chances of getting back to the silver screen with the Halle Berry version.
BANE!!! |

MORE ON HARLEY QUINN
Besides the fact she weakens the Joker's mystique (do what he wants when he wants...which having a long-term relationship kinda, actually REALLY, dampens), annoying accent, stupid costume that's ridiculous even by comic book standards (unless, I guess, people are sad enough to jerk to comic books...), and a love based on...nothing. She's obsessed with him? Fine. She wants to be with him? Fine. But after a while, either he's going to kill her (just for the fun of it...he's the fucking JOKER), or she's going to leave because she's had enough abuse (especially when she's strong enough to take on Catwoman, etc.)
My point is, she only exists as a fanboy wetdream. You're going to have to do a LOT to convince me otherwise. Yes, she's competant (especially in the Mad Love episode and subsequent comic where she almost kills Batman, I know), but again, that was due to poor writing, and contrived story telling (like almost ALL of "Knightfall"), so that won't convince me. And besides, it goes back to that fanboy fetish for strong, smart, female characters in spandex.
I say the burden of proof is on you guys, the fans. I hate her, and always will. And I don't want her stupid ass costume or annoying accent destroying the credibility of the Nolan Batman series.
If you disagree with me, that's fine. It's an opinion...no one's wrong, per se. But I feel, as an OBJECTIVE OPINION, that she SHOULD NOT exist in the Nolan universe. The only thing she's got going for her is her ridiculous catsuit, which would translate horribly on film (at least in Nolan's movies...might have fit in a Shitmaker film, maybe). So, if you want to say she should be allowed to exist...fine. This is the same universe that houses Booster Gold. But if you say she should exist in the films? Like Carl Sagan said (paraphrasing) "Outrageous claims require outrageous proof". |

HARLEY QUINN!!!??
And FUCK Harley Quinn too! NERD RAGE!!! SMASH!!!!
Look, I'm not usually this venomous, and I don't usually yell (or type) FUCK THIS or FUCK THAT, but the two things that get brought up that do this to me (at least Batman related...Star Wars is a different story...) are BANE and HARLEY QUINN! Both are one note, hackney, stupid fucking characters. Bane, as I said, is a one-dimensional deus ex machnia, and Harley Quinn is just a fanboy wetdream. Really. That's ALL she is: hot, sexy, and...NOTHING ELSE! She takes away Joker's murderous mystique by not killing her when she first gives him lip, it's not very realistic that someone would be so attracted to the Joker, and she just would NOT fit into any sort of real-world scenerio (or at least keeping fanboys wanking fantasies intact) with that fucking ridiculous jester outfit!
Give it a rest! She's the only blot in the awesome Batman: TAS, and she's already sullied the comics - don't let her infect the movie series too! AHH! |
