The redundantly titled martial arts action flick NINJA ASSASSIN starts carving on Thanksgiving weekend, but if you need a few more peeks at the movie, we've got a whole salvo of new snaps in our Upcoming Movies section.

The movie comes from Wachowskis protege James McTiegue and involves a deadly trained killer seeking revenge on his former clan. In addition to Korean superstar Rain, it features adorable Naomie Harris (28 DAYS LATER) and several other non-weather humans.

Click the pics for more bloodshed!

Extra Tidbit: A martial arts training center in my neighborhood has a "Little Ninjas" program. Start training your silent killer when they're young!

Wow. It's not a redundant title and it certainly is NOT an oxymoron ("Merriam- Webster" : a combination of contradictory or incongruous words (as cruel kindness);) If anything it is a synonym as 'Ninja' has come to me...
Wow. It's not a redundant title and it certainly is NOT an oxymoron ("Merriam- Webster" : a combination of contradictory or incongruous words (as cruel kindness);) If anything it is a synonym as 'Ninja' has come to mean 'assassin' in westrn pop culture. That aside, you guys really don't get that he is a killer of Ninjas i.e. a Ninja Assassin? Really?

It's not that redundant. Traditionally, ninjas were trained to be spies, infiltrators, saboteurs, and warriors.

They should have just titled it "Ninja", and that would be enough.

It's technically an oxymoron: a two-word paradox. Paradoxes are only redundant in appearance.

Not all Ninja's are assassins. Sure some are, but how about the ninja's that do the payroll, or the ninja's who answer the phones at the front office, or the ninja's that make the coffee, or the ninja's that handle the sales and marketing. I think you can see my point. There are all sorts of ninja's.

An oxymoron consists of contradictory terms (as does a paradox), not similar ones.

I do really want to see the movie, redundant title or not, though, some of the CGI weapons in the trailers have been turning me off.

Ninjas are assassins. So if he's a ninja, he's also an assassin. If he's assassinating assassins, it's just accurate tautology. But it still might as well have been called NINJA NINJA or ASSASSIN ASSASSIN, which at least superficially is redundant.
