ALPHA DOG is inspired by the true story of Jesse James Hollywood, a mid-level drug dealer from the San Gabriel Valley whose thirst for power led him to become the youngest man ever to appear on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. Emile Hirsch stars as teenage suburban drug dealer Johnny Truelove, an ambitious young man whose lifestyle is a mecca for guns, sex and drugs. When a “client” cheats Johnny and a deal goes bad, he devises a plan to get his money back by kidnapping the client’s younger brother. But things take an unexpected twist as Johnny and his crew get caught up in the dangerous and violent world they once idealized.

  • January 12, 2007: Review: Alpha Dog: Based on true events, the story follows a bunch of spoiled rich kids in L.A.. Johnny Truelove, a mid-level drug dealer who enjoys all the pleasantries of partying up with his buds, smoking weed, drinking and the companionship of plenty of hot...

  • December 27, 2006: Alpha Dog/Rocky sites: It’s hard to believe ALPHA DOG is finally being released but, after all that delay, it ultimately snagged a date in the coveted mid-January slot (the 12th to be exact). Much like Universal has hooked the film up with such clutch timing, so to have they went...

  • November 2, 2006: Mo' problems for A-Dog: The attorney of Jesse James Hollywood, murder defendant and subject of the (eventually) upcoming ALPHA DOG , apparently doesn't give a damn that the poor movie has continually lost grasp on theatrical release for nearly a year now, as he wants the flick pushed...

  • October 10, 2006: Excl: Alpha Dog poster: ALPHA DOG has had a long, hard road to the big screen. Shot in 2004 for New Line, the project was shelved after director Nick Cassavetes and studio execs disagreed on a release plan (New Line wanted to go limited while Cassavetes wanted a wider release)....

  • October 9, 2006: New Alpha Dog trailer: The Emile Hirsch-and-Justin- Timberlake-starring ALPHA DOG is now set for its bazillionth and a half release date (January 12th) and, presumably for several reasons, the film now has a second and all new full threatrical trailer, which bears a striking...

  • February 9, 2006: Alpha Dog trailer: The official trailer for Nick Cassavetes' much-delayed crime thriller ALPHA DOG has made its way over to Yahoo. I haven't seen the trailer but persuing the official stills, the hotties alone seem to be worth watching this movie. First there's Amanda...

  • February 1, 2006: Poster round-up: A lot of new posters have been coming out recently so here are a few that you maybe haven't seen yet with just a few select comments. First, The huge black space on the ALPHA DOG poster, like the MATCH POINT poster, feels like it's going to swallow...

  • July 5, 2005: Travolta is J.R.?: I must be going crazy because I didn't even realize that there was a feature adaptation of the tv show DALLAS in the works under director Robert Luketic (LEGALLY BLONDE) and written by Robert Harling (STEEL MAGNOLIAS). Not only that but John Travolta...

  • July 5, 2005: Willis is Nick Fury?: It seems Bruce Willis may be jumping on the comic book movie bandwagon as the titular character in the feature adaptation of NICK FURY. I don't know much about the comic so I can't say how much of a fit Willis would be but I do know that David Hasselhoff...

  • May 2, 2005: Timberlake in Shrek 3?: Reader Erin pointed out that we put up a lot of eye candy for the guys but nothing for the women. This is true but the reasons for it are that 1) we're guys who like staring at hot women and 2) hot pictures of women are much easier to find than pictures...

  • October 26, 2004: Willis an Alpha male: Bruce Willis has joined Emile Hirsch, Justin Timberlake and Sharon Stone in the "inspired by real life" ALPHA DOG for director Nick Cassavetes. Willis will star as the father of Hirsch's character Johnny Truelove. Stone will star in the film as Hirsch's mother...

  • October 1, 2004: Justin makes Alpha bet: If you listen to the rumors, you'd think Justin Timberlake is struggling with his acting debut in the Kevin Spacey flick EDISON. Whether he is or is not remains to be seen but the singer seems to be pushing on with his acting career. He's signed on to co-star...
