For me I'm looking forward to Playlist a little more, but Porno looks good too. |

First of all, I was afraid from the title of this article someone had died (I was thinking either Hirsch or Nelson). WHEW! Glad that didn't happen yet.
And to answer your tidbit, hands down "Zack and Miri."

I'm more excited about Zach & Miri. Apatow's comedy is great, but has become common place recently; whereas we are only treated to a Kevin Smith comedy every couple of years. |

Frankly, I think we all need a break from Apatow. His crew's ideas have gotten worse or more outlandish, and sadistic (DRILLBIT's bullies, PINEAPPLE's end action sequence) Each outing sees more intent to destroy this this comedy powerhouse, stripping out the heart which was the main ingredient that differentiated Apatow from others . One thing I liked about Apatow was his ability to maintain this certain brand of reality based comedy, ie 40, KNOCKED UP, SUPER. They were like 1980's Hughes & Landis bastard love child(ren) . On the certain occasion when the material didnt fit his brand, its was sold to others; ie. TALADEGA ,ZOHAN & WALK HARD. They where each knowingly throw away products, but molded for the actor; a chance to cash in on Apatow's name without foresaking his own creations. But now it seems that ability to discern what material is good has blurred; just throwing it all at the wall hoping it sticks, like the Farley Bros. after MARY. |

Ya, Rudd needs the a lead part. His lines tend to be some of my favorites in Apatow flicks. And I recently saw Walk Hard, despite hearing how it wasn't very good, and I thought it was fuckin hilarious. I don't know why anyone wouldn't enjoy it. |

From that picture with Apatow and co they look like gangsters in a soprano's poster.
Zack and Miri should be pretty good. |

Can't wait for 'Porno'. I gotta say, while I enjoyed all of Apatows films, you have to admit they're all about 20-30 minutes too long. Just think how funny 40 Year Old Virgin would have been at 90 minutes. Knocked Up probably went overlong the most though. Still - all good films. |
