Worst disaster Ever! Sep. 2, 2008
Source: /Film
by: Daniel Barna

Being number one is so awesome. If you're number one you get all the girls, you get the best flavours of ice cream, your pets love you more, cheese melts faster, and your back is almost never hairy. Well it looks like DISASTER MOVIE can cancel all its waxing appointments because it has graciously been voted as the worst film of all time by all those who call IMDB home. Earlier this year Paris Hilton's box office smash THE HOTTIE AND THE NOTTIE held the number one spot, only to have it snatched away by some atrocity called BEN AND ARTHUR.

All sarcasm aside, the studios releasing this garbage need to wake up and actually put some effort into their product. Stop casting dudes named G. Thang in your films, and stop creating characters named "Jessicas Simpson-look-a-like" and "Dr. Phil look-a-like" and of course, "Flava Fav look-a-like". It's actually kind of pathetic and has a tendency to give me diahrreah. DISASTER MOVIE may not be the worst film ever made, but hopefully its inclusion on the list will alert the dudes that are greenlighting this garbage to just please, please stop.

Extra Tidbit: No joke, the film's working title was Meet the Spartans 2: The Story of McLover & The Kingdom of the Crystal Beer Can. Good. god.

If I remember correctly I think Meet the Spartans had the dubious honour of being #1 on the Bottom 100 at some point. Stop me if I'm wrong, but fuck, it's not like that's hard to believe.

Then again, maybe I can't really judge because I didn't see it. When it came out at the movies I was still in hospital recovering from the stroke I suffered after seeing the trailer. When I saw the trailer for Disaster Movie I spontaneously contracted leprosy.

Seriously, fuck everybody associated with these fucking turds.

I have not seen Disaster Movie. Nor will I ever. But it is flat out UNREAL that it exists. Its like one of those fake movies WITHIN a movie that are incredibly cheesy and ridiculous. But no, folks, this garbage exists.

I watched Epic Movie on HBO for five minutes and I actually felt dumber. This is no joke, no exaggeration. I felt dumber.

Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg continue making crap while most of the real talent doesn't get noticed.

Hey, let's not get totally down on everything that's a spoof. Remember, at their hearts, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were both spoofs. They just weren't shitty, pathetic, brainless spoofs. The thing about spoof movies is that their jokes should still work even if you've never seen the thing they're jabbing at. I remember seeing Airplane when I was 12 (I'm 22 now), and I laughed my ass off despite not knowing anything they were poking fun at. With Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, people still found the movies funny and entertaining even if they'd never seen a cop or zombie movie in their entire lives. If you'd seen Point Break, that just made an already, independently hilarious Hot Fuzz all the more funny. But, if you hadn't, it didn't take away from the movie. These new Seltzer and whats-his-name movies, though, think that comedy is putting a familiar face on screen and having them get kicked in the face, and then you're supposed to laugh because somebody that looks like somebody that's famous got kicked in the face. My god, their humor is surprisingly close to that of Family Guy... God forbid I call that series a piece of crap, also.

There are many things wrong with these guys making these movies. The two things that stand out the most for these two "filmakers" is the "let's stick every current pop culture reference we can in there" (I saw the trailer before Hancock even came out and they already had it spoofed) and "our look-a-likes are so bad we have to tell you who they are supposed to be". You know the ones like in "Meet The Spartans" when he turns around and sees "Ryan Seacrest" he actually says "Ryan Seacrest?", yeah I had to question the validity of the look-a-like too.

ALSO
Make them rated R with minimum amount of male buttocks on the screen. It's like the Jewish Humor Machine is finally broken by "bare-asses-jokes" that aren't even Electra's! Shame on you, assholes!

Is this the first time one of these from this series has been at the bottom of the IMDb ranking?

REALITY CHECK
Wow, talk about "shooting-yourself-in-the- foot". I totally agree that this should be a wake up call for spoof makers and this (hopefully) will be the last of such nonsense.
