X-Files trailer Mar. 28, 2008
Source: JoBlo Video by: Ben Barna

X-FILES was that show that me and my friends would discuss in elementary school, every Monday, rating the episodes. Then the first film came out and being as I can’t remember anything about it, it’s safe to say it was a letdown. Not to say it was bad, but it didn’t do the legendary series it was based on justice. And now here’s X-FILES: DONE ONE, and I don’t know what it’s doing in theatres. I thought the market for X-FILES was long gone. I didn’t think a studio would invest money into a film based on a show whose audience seemed to be dwindling. I thought David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would refuse to revisit the roles that made them famous. I was wrong on all counts. Here is a trailer for X-FILES 2 opening on July 25th.

Extra Tidbit: Writing that story made me feel extremely nostalgic for the days of yore.

It was my freshman year at college when "Home" aired. I never knew it was banned after that. My wife and I are stoked for another X-Files movie. Oh and unrelated to this news. GET RID OF THOSE DAMN FLASH ADS ON THE SITE THAT COVER MY WHOLE F***ING SCREEN!!!

The episode that was banned was called "Home". Every X-file fan I have talked to remembers where they were when they saw that episode. It's kind of funny. Ask and see. They really do.

What?!? David Duchovny has only been talking about a sequel for years, ever since the first movie came out.

I never watched X-Files regularly when it was on. I remember watching the episode that was "banned" in the U.S. on Halloween night when I was in college. It involved an inbred murderous family. However, I really enjoyed the movie and I like the overall feel of the series. I have high hopes for this movie.

When those pics came out a while ago and had some possible spoiler pictures in them I started to wonder if the story was going to take place in Wisconsin and deal with a legend in that state. Sci-Fi channel made a really shitty movie about it. Without giving too much away it has to do with Bray Road in southern Wisconsin. I guess I'll find out in July...

Came out my senior year as well. The movie was awesome, but it also happened right before the show jumped the shark. I think that's part of why it is a little dubious in the memories of many. The movie also didn't have a lot for non-fans of the show, so it wound up being not very memorable. Hopefully this will rekindle some of that old black (oil) magic.

My favorite part about how the first movie aged? How FEMA was a shadowy organization that takes control of the government in times of crisis. Oh yeah, and then Katrina happened, and we saw that FEMA couldn't take control of screwing in light bulbs.

COOL
Now why would they want to hide the trailer from an audience that waited a decade to see a sequel? Pathetic... just plain pathetic.
