AMC has greenlit Jason Segel’s Dispatches From Elsewhere anthology series

AMC has announced that they've given the green light to a new original anthology series from the mind of Jason Segel (THE MUPPETS, TV's FREAK AND GEEKS) titled DISPATCHES FROM ELSEWHERE. Set to be executive produced by Scott Rudin, Eli Bush and Garrett Basch, Segel will also star in the hour-long anthology series that, in a unique twist, will include viewer interaction elements across a series of media platforms.

The show centers around a group of ordinary people who stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life. They will come to find that the mystery winds far deeper than they ever imagined.

“I am thrilled to be telling this story at AMC,” Segel said. “I truly could not imagine a better team and a more perfect home for this material.”

Echoing Segel's enthusiasm for the upcoming project was David Madden, president of original programming for AMC, SundanceTV, and AMC Studios, who said, “AMC has a proven history of finding shows that rise above, in every sense, and we think ‘Dispatches from Elsewhere’ will be an incredible addition to that club,” Madden then added, “This is a very special project based on a truly unique premise and peopled by vivid characters, all driven by Jason’s wildly creative vision. We’re thrilled for audiences to see this bold, witty and enthralling series.”

DISPATCHES FROM ELSEWHERE is scheduled to begin shooting early 2019, as an AMC Studios production.
