An enormous Middle-Earth Blu-ray box-set will soon be upon us

If you've been holding out for the complete Middle-Earth Blu-ray collection for the past fifteen years, prepare to feel vindicated. Details on an enormous new box-set which contains the extended editions of both THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy as well as THE HOBBIT trilogy have been released by Amazon (via io9). The Middle-Earth Limited Collector’s Edition also includes the countless hours of amazing bonus features found on the previous Blu-ray/DVD sets all bundled up in a very handsome package.

It doesn't appear as though there are any new bonus features included this time around but each film will be housed in "six stunning faux leather books and a collectible Hobbit-style wood shelf" which was crafted from solid wood with a design selected by Peter Jackson himself. Also included is a 100-page replica of The Red Book of Westmarch, which was the book which both Frodo and Bilbo wrote their tales in, but this recreation will instead be filled with original film sketches and new artwork. Speaking of artwork, several reproductions of watercolour paintings by Alan Lee and John Howe will also be included.

Amazon has since removed some of the product details, such as what this massive set will cost, but at the moment The Middle-Earth Limited Collector’s Edition is set for a October 4, 2016 release.
