Arnold Schwarzenegger has a message for spring breakers about coronavirus

If you're not going to listen to the Terminator himself as he smokes a cigar in his jacuzzi, I'm not sure what else will convince you to stay inside the house as the coronavirus spread continues. Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken notice to many people still going out in mass groups despite the pandemic and he's not here for it.

The 72-year old actor took to his Twitter page where he shared a video message imploring everyone to practice a little social distancing. "I'm at home, in the jacuzzi, smoking a little stogie. I just finished a bike ride and a little bit of a workout and I just keep staying at home, away from the crowds and away from outside."

Schwarzenegger went on to explain why he was making the clip:

"The reason why I'm saying that is because I still see photographs and videos of people sitting at outside cafes all over the world and having a good time and hanging out in crowds. That is not wise because that's how you can get the virus. That's how you get it. Contact with other people."

The actor's parting shot appears to be for the younger crowd that is in the midst of spring break and many don't seem to be trying to stop enjoying themselves, despite the potential risk:

"Especially now that it's springtime, the older kids are going to the beach and celebrate and drink and all that stuff that is not a good idea. So stay from crowds, go home, and then we can overcome this whole problem, this whole virus in no time. But you got to go and follow those orders. Just remember: stay at home, don't go to crowds. Put that cookie down!"

Perhaps Schwarzenegger, who already took to social media to implore others to practice social distancing, saw the following video that showed spring breakers basically saying screw corona! They're going to party! I'm all for living your lives but the clip is the very definition of "shaking my damn head."

BTW, at 72-years old, no matter how invincible we think he is via his movies, Schwarzenegger has more of a reason to urge people to stay home because he's in the age range that is most at risk for death in regards to the virus because it has been more life-threatening for people 60 and up. The big message throughout all of this has been we may all be young and not worried about getting sick but we could easily be around a loved one or even a total stranger who is older and living with a pre-existing condition that we don't know about and we could unintentionally spread it to them. So just set up a little Arnold Schwarzenegger marathon at home and enjoy some 80s and 90s action featuring one of the best action stars of all-time. It's far better than getting sick, trust me.
