Marvel sets digital release of Avengers: Infinity War for July 31

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR has come, conquered, and is officially the biggest superhero movie ever with about $1.7 billion at the global box office, and still climbing! You’ve probably all seen it numerous times, and are counting down the days until you can watch the movie in the comfort of your own home while you lounge in your Spider-Man onesie. Well, now you have a precise day to count down to, as it has been announced that INFINITY WAR will arrive on Digital and UHD on July 31.

The official Avengers Twitter account posted today that the movie will be available to purchase and stream at the end of July, a good three months after the movie’s release. There was no word on the Blu-ray release of the movie, but should it follow the same release pattern as BLACK PANTHER (which it looks like it will) the physical copy would probably be available that next week on August 7.

Services like iTunes and Vudu are allowing people to preorder the movie, so if you feel like you need to slap that money down you can do so now. The movie is looking to come in second place in its fourth weekend now that DEADPOOL 2 is here, and thanks to a tremendous overseas run should continue to inch its way to the $2 billion mark worldwide. Watch your ass, FORCE AWAKENS.

When it comes to these big Marvel movies I like to wait for the physical copy of the movie. I do this for several reasons, 1.) so that the movie always looks at its best and most vibrant and 2.) because I’ve already got all of the other MCU movies on Blu-ray and I can’t have a gap in the set. I’m very particualr about my movie collection. But, some don’t mind watching stuff on their mobile devices, so they will gladly pay the price to watch it earlier. However, I will say Thanos deserves more respect than being watched on an iPhone. Just sayin’.
