Best Horror Movies of 2021

We’re in the final hours of 2021, and with the latest video uploaded to our JoBlo Horror Original YouTube channel we’re taking a look back at the horror movies we’ve seen over the last year and putting together a list of the Best Horror Movies of 2021. To find out which movies made the top 10 list, check out the video embedded above and let us know your top 10 picks in the comments!

The Best Horror Movies of 2021 video was Written, Narrated, and Edited by Lance Vlcek.

To go along with the video, here’s a text version of Lance’s list:

In the age of a continuing pandemic, a weird theatrical release schedule, a crap ton of streaming services releasing their own movies along with the still present VOD, the chance of missing something is high. I did my best, but I’m sure some flicks slipped through the cracks. Some movies I enjoyed didn’t make a list, while others felt fine? Just fine. If anything, the top hitters I assumed I would love ended up being serviceable at best. Weird year folks, but let’s get down to brass tax and jump right into this!

Some quick housekeeping rules, first. By their very nature, “lists” are divisive. Even if you agree on the content, where something lands can undo a lot of goodwill by a perceived slight. So my friends, all I ask is that you focus less on where things land and on what is actually here.

1. Oxygen

2. Antlers

3. Last Night In Soho

4. Saint Maud

5. Son

6. Malignant

7. Army Of The Dead

8. Seance

9. The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre

10. Jakob’s Wife

I have to admit that I have some catching up to, as I have only seen 3 of the 10 movies on the list. I guess there’s going to be a 7 movie marathon in my near future. I can say that the movies I have seen definitely deserved to make it onto the list – and I’m kind of glad that a couple high profile releases that I found to be disappointing didn’t make it on there.
