Best Served Cold: Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to star in the Tim Miller-directed revenge film

Tim Miller is cooking up a revenge film titled Best Served Cold, and Rebecca Ferguson could be the project’s gourmand. Ferguson is in final talks to star in the movie, with Tim Miller directing. The concept hails from the best-selling novel of the same name by Joe Abercrombie. Skydance is the studio.

Initially printed as a part of Abercrombie’s First Law World series, Best Served Cold tells the tale of the famous mercenary Monza Murcatto, the plot that separates her from her people, and her mission of revenge that rocks a nation to its core.

Per Amazon, here is a synopsis of Abercrombie’s novel:

Springtime in Styria. And that means war. There have been nineteen years of blood. The ruthless Grand Duke Orso is locked in a vicious struggle with the squabbling League of Eight, and between them, they have bled the land white. While armies march, heads roll, and cities burn, behind-the-scenes bankers, priests, and older, darker powers play a deadly game to choose who will be king. War may be hell, but for Monza Murcatto, the Snake of Talins, the most feared and famous mercenary in Duke Orso’s employ, it’s a damn good way of making money too. Her victories have made her popular – a shade too popular for her employer’s taste. Betrayed, thrown down a mountain, and left for dead, Murcatto’s reward is a broken body and a burning hunger for vengeance. Whatever the cost, seven men must die. Her allies include Styria’s least reliable drunkard, Styria’s most treacherous poisoner, a mass murderer obsessed with numbers, and a Northman who just wants to do the right thing. Her enemies number the better half of the nation. And that’s all before the most dangerous man in the world is dispatched to hunt her down and finish the job Duke Orso started…Springtime in Styria. And that means revenge.

Ferguson is famous for her roles in Hollywood’s Mission: Impossible and Dune franchises, in addition to starring in films like Doctor SleepThe Greatest Showman, and The Girl on the Train. She’s adept at delivering action and drama while unafraid of getting her hands dirty for gritty roles.

Miller, known for directing the first Deadpool film, also shot and executive producers Terminator: Dark Fate. Additionally, Miller is taking over Borderlands after Eli Roth exited the project. While Borderlands is primarily complete, Miller will oversee extensive reshoots to bring the film up the snuff. Borderlands stars Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Cate Blanchett, making the video game adaptation a star-studded worth being curious about. With such big names attached, Borderlands must hit big to achieve Super Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog status. Good luck, Tim!
