Cary Elwes and Drea de Matteo star in Don’t Sleep, coming in September

It's been quite a while since we heard that Cary Elwes and Drea de Matteo would be starring in a horror film directed by Rick Bieber. That casting announcement was made back in February of 2015, at which time the film was going by the title THE OTHER. Over the last two and a half years, THE OTHER has changed its title to DON'T SLEEP and landed a distribution deal with Freestyle Digital Media.

Freestyle will be releasing DON'T SLEEP in theatres and on VOD on September 29th, and exactly one month out from the release date we have a trailer and poster for the film.

Elwes and de Matteo's co-stars include Dominic Sherwood, Jill Hennessy, Alex Rocco, Andrew Caldwell, Alex Carter, and Charlbi Dean.

Written by Bieber, DON'T SLEEP has the following official synopsis:

After moving into a cottage together, two young lovers confront the horrors of a forgotten childhood.

The synopsis shared in 2015 offers a bit more detail:

The psychological horror stars Dominic Sherwood as Zach Bradford, a young man tormented by the possibility of descending into the depths of insanity, or worse, become the target of an actual demonization. The terrors surrounding Zach, his family and friends grow to deadly proportions and he is forced to question his sanity and fears for his girlfriend Shawn’s (Charlbi Dean) safety. Once the threat of psychotic behavior reaches its climactic conclusion, Zach is confronted with an unimaginable horrific reality.

DON'T SLEEP definitely has some solid cast members, and the trailer boasts some interesting nightmare imagery. Even if none of the other horror elements deliver, it looks like it's at least going to have a memorably creepy kid.
