Check out the logo for 300: Rise of an Empire

Hmmmm…I thought that 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE was going to get kicked back to a shelf in Hell somewhere. I guess they decided to keep on truckin’ with this one. Also kind of surprised that it isn’t taking the direct to DVD route.

When I saw that a new logo was released, a slight “meh” came out. So, we decided to go with a similar logo. Will the posters look like the ones for 300? Do we need to piggy back on that? While it is a prequel, it will likely need to rely on the success of Snyder’s film from 2007.

I’m not expecting much from the film. While I did enjoy the performance of Santoro and see Headley and Green as smokin’ hot babes, I still just don’t see this doing what it intended. Noam Murro was an interesting choice to take this on as well.

Check out the logo below.

Synopsis: Xerxes is somewhat pushed into the bloody battle with the Greeks by the gold-covered maven goddess Artemisia. Artemisia, witnessing just how much his father King Darius’s death has affected him, persuades Xerxes – with her “vindictive charm” – to go into battle against those responsible. Artemisia attempts to play both sides, enlisting Themistocles, a Greek warrior, to her ranks with her alluring charm. However, Themosticles is every bit as good a liar as he is a fighter and may be playing an angle of his own.

300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE prepares for glory on August 2nd, 2013. Directed by Noam Murro (SMART PEOPLE), it stars Eva Green (as the once-titular Artemisia), Sullivan Stapleton (as the hero Themistocles), Lena Headey (Queen Gorgo), and Rodrigo Santoro (Xerxes).
