Chris Hemsworth says he’s contracted for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2

Collider got a nice little scoop while speaking with Chris Hemsworth at the AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON junket. The site wanted to know how many movies Hemsworth has left on his Marvel contract, and the actor said three, with one of them being THOR: RAGNAROK. The other two? AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART I and PART II.

I’m three films away from [the end of my contract]; I’ve got Avengers 3 and 4 and I’ve got Thor 3.

This comes as a bit of a surprise since it's been rumored/speculated that AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART I will focus on the newer Avengers members like Black Panther and Doctor Strange, with the old guard returning for the sequel. Hemsworth's comments also seem to confirm that he will not appear in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

But things could always change. Marvel may decide Thor doesn't need to be in the third Avengers flick, and add him to a different movie. How do you think Marvel will use the God of Thunder in their upcoming films?

Chris Hemsworth will be back as Thor in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on May 1, 2015, and THOR: RAGNAROK is scheduled to be released on November 3, 2017. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART I will be in theaters on May 4, 2018, while AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART II opens on May 3, 2019.
