Cool Videos: Fan-made Boba Fett trailer teases the standalone possibilities

Boba Fett sure does have his devoted following.

Personally, I don't get it. I've always viewed him as a subpar bounty hunter who only looks good with his cool helmet and jetpack among some other terrible peers. (Dengar, really?) Oh… there's also the matter of him dying when a blind man accidently set off his jetpack, sending him crashing into the side of Jabba the Hutt's barge and into the Sarlacc, too, but hey… Who wants to get into those facts?

Either way, fans love their Boba Fett, which is why they are more than thrilled he'll be getting an expanded role moving ahead in the STAR WARS Universe/Galaxy as the standalones shift into gear. That's why anyone who has ever considered themselves a Boba Fett fan should be giddy at this fan-made trailer for a solo Boba Fett movie that Eric Demeusy hopes one day gets made.

In his imagination, he dreams of a story that has Boba Fett escaping the Sarlacc (as he did in the EU, which has since been rendered fan-fiction essentially) and fighting "alongside the Rebellion to establish a New Republic.” That's the premise for STAR WARS: THE NEW REPUBLIC ANTHOLOGY, which, once again, isn't happening, but at least has a teaser that, putting my deep-seeded Boba Fett feelings aside, is a cool watch for a couple of minutes today that you otherwise would have spent doing something unproductive anyway. So you might as well just watch. It's worth the procrastination.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, where we might see Boba Fett make his first new film appearance, arrives in theaters on December 16, 2016.
