Fascinating. For some reason, I am intrigued by the friendship off screen between actors Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy. Despite a huge age gap between them, the two men who have been Spock have reportedly become close friends in real life. With STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS opening next week, there is a prime opportunity to capitalize on these two men and their shared iconic role.
This new Audi commercial has both Nimoy and Quinto using their vehicles to place a friendly wager for lunch and a round of golf. What proceeds is a series of great STAR TREK inside jokes and some hilarious references to Nimoy’s musical career. Watch this and I defy you not to laugh.
Between this ad and the William Shatner vs Gorn commercial for the STAR TREK video game, there is no shortage of awesome old school TREK references.
