Craig Sheffer to star in Chizmar adaptation Widow’s Point

A couple months ago, we shared the news that author Richard Chizmar, founder of Cemetery Dance magazine, and his son/collaborator Billy Chizmar had multiple film projects in the works. One of those projects was an adaptation of their novella WIDOW'S POINT, which was said to be scheduled to start filming in August.

That project stayed on schedule. It's August, and a cinematic adaptation of WIDOW'S POINT is now in production.

NIGHTBREED (pictured above) and HELLRAISER: INFERNO star Craig Sheffer has the lead role in the film, which will take place in four different time periods. The story is about

an author who spends a weekend locked in a haunted lighthouse as a publicity stunt to promote his next book. Cut off from the outside world, he finds himself targeted by sinister forces.

Gregory Lamberson wrote the screenplay adaptation of WIDOW'S POINT and is directing the film. His previous credits include SLIME CITY, SLIME CITY MASSACRE, KILLER RACK, and JOHNNY GRUESOME.

Co-starring with Sheffer are Willow Xylia Anwar, Kaelin Lamberson, KateLynn E. Newberry, Richard Satterwhite, Janel Tanna, Michael Thurber, Dominic Luongo, John Renna, and Billy Chizmar.

Richard Chizmar and Erin Elizabeth Heald are executive producing the film, which is being produced by Gregory and Tamar Lamberson.

I haven't read WIDOW'S POINT so I don't know what to expect from this movie, but the story sounds interesting and I'm also intrigued by the pairing of Lamberson and Sheffer.

If you'd like to pick up a copy of the Chizmars' book, you can do so on Amazon.
