Dylan O’Brien & Logan Lerman being eyed to play Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man?

Well, it didn't take long for the first Spider-Man casting rumor to surface online. Yesterday we learned Sony wants a younger actor for the role since the character will still be in high school in the films, and sources have told Variety that the studio is eyeing Dylan O'Brien (THE MAZE RUNNER, Teen Wolf) and Logan Lerman (FURY, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER) to play Peter Parker, as well as a few other actors.

Variety goes on to say actors haven't been contacted yet about possibly playing Spider-Man, and Sony will probably make a decision once they land a director for the new movie. The site also says the studio is trying to decide if it wants to go with Peter Parker again as Spider-Man, or introduce someone else as Spidey, like Miles Morales.

Sony will have to act fast since the new Spider-Man will make his debut in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. I think using Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker is a great idea, however I'm really sold on Dylan O'Brien playing the web-head. Which Spider-Man do you want to see in the Sony and Marvel films: Parker's or Morales'?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR will hit theaters on May 6, 2016, and the solo Spider-Man movie is set to be released on July 28, 2017.
