Exclusive Memory: The Origins of Alien clip celebrates Dan O’Bannon

Like many of you guys out there, one of my top five horror movies of all-time is director Ridley Scott's masterpiece ALIEN. And like many of you, I'm excited as hell to check out writer-director Alexandre O Philippe's (78/52: Hitchcock's Shower Scene) MEMORY: THE ORIGINS OF ALIEN. Screen Media & Legion M will release the film in theaters and On Demand timed to the 40th anniversary of the original film next month.

And today we have an exclusive clip to share with you guys. It features writer Dan O'Bannon's wife talking about the mysterious man behind ALIEN and RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. Total worth a good 3 minutes of your time. Check it out above!

Featuring Veronica Cartwright (Alien, The Birds), Roger Christian (Alien, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope), Tom Skerritt (Alien, Top Gun), Ronald Shusett (Alien), Roger Corman (The Silence of the Lambs, Little Shop of Horrors), here's the official rundown on the movie which

unearths the largely untold origin story behind Ridley Scott's cinematic masterpiece, and reveals a treasure trove of never-before-seen materials from the archives of Alien creators Dan O'Bannon and H.R. Giger – including original story notes, rejected designs and storyboards, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, and O’Bannon’s original 29 page script from 1971, titled Memory. The documentary also takes fans on an exploration of the mythical underpinnings of Alien and dedicates focus on the film’s iconic “Chestburster” scene.

Directed & written by Alexandre O Philippe (78/52: Hitchcock's Shower Scene) the film was produced by Kerry Deignan Roy. The flick's release is timed to the 40th Anniversary of the original film and will be hitting theaters and On-Demand on October 4, 2019.

Even though I have seen all the behind the scenes I can take on ALIEN, I'm still excited as hell to check out this film, if only because it's from the director of not only 78/52: HITCHCOCK'S SHOWER SCENE but also THE PEOPLE VS. GEORGE LUCAS and DOC OF THE DEAD. Bring it on, I say!
