Fallen (1998) Revisited – Horror Movie Review

It’s time for a new episode of our Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series, released under the Revisited banner, and in this one we’re looking at one a movie that may be the only film Denzel Washington has made that’s considered to be a horror movie. That’s Fallen, from 1998 – and if you haven’t seen it yet, you can learn all about it in the video embedded above. You can also watch the movie at THIS LINK.

Directed by Gregory Hoblit from a screenplay by Nicholas Kazan, Fallen has the following synopsis:

After witnessing the execution of serial killer Edgar Reese, whom he arrested, police detective John Hobbes, and his partner, Jonesy, are soon investigating another murderer whose mode of operation is eerily similar to Reese’s. In the course of the investigation, Hobbes meets theology professor Gretta Milano, who introduces him to the world of the occult and the possibility that an evil spirit is behind the killings.

Washington is joined in the cast by John Goodman, Embeth Davidtz, Elias Koteas, Donald Sutherland, and James Gandolfini.

Our Best Horror Movie You Never Saw series is

dedicated to highlighting horror films that, for one reason or another, don’t get as much love as we think they should. We know plenty of you horror hounds out there will have seen many of the movies we pick, but there will be plenty of you who have not.

This episode was Written by Gaius Bolling, Narrated by Shawn Knippleberg, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by John Fallon and Lance Vlcek, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
