February becomes The Blackcoat’s Daughter for July release

THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER is a film we've been keeping track of for a while now, but if the title doesn't sound familiar it's because the movie was being called FEBRUARY when we covered it before. The title change comes as distributors A24 and DirecTV are gearing up to release the film this summer.

It's not clear if there are any plans for THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER to get theatrical play, but the movie will definitely be available for viewing on DirecTV on July 14th.

Written and directed by Osgood Perkins, THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER tells the following story:

Kat (Kiernan Shipka) and Rose (Lucy Boynton) are in different grades at a prestigious prep school for girls, where they are stranded after their parents mysteriously fail to retrieve them for winter break. Meanwhile, a haunted young woman, Joan (Emma Roberts), makes a bloody pilgrimage across a frozen landscape toward the school. As Joan gets closer, Kat is plagued by increasingly terrifying visions, and Rose can only look on in horror as her younger schoolmate becomes possessed by an unseen evil force.

Lucy Boynton, James Remar, and Lauren Holly also star.

The trailer for the film formerly known as FEBRUARY can be seen right here.
