Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire went to No Way Home screenings to witness fan reactions

Spider-Man: No Way Home is coming up on a month since its release so many of the film’s secrets are starting to be discussed by those who spent months saying they weren’t involved with the film. Andrew Garfield has said lying about his role in the film was “stressful” yet “weirdly enjoyable” and now he gets to freely talk about it, like how he and fellow Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, actually snuck into theaters on opening night for Spider-Man: No Way Home to witness fan reactions.

During an interview with ET, Garfield said, “I still can’t believe it happened. I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask.” Garfield went on to say, “I was also with Tobey, me and Tobey snuck into a theater together and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together. And to find a brotherhood with Tobey as well, and with Tom [Holland], and the fact that we do share a very unique experience.”

The audience reactions to their first experience during my screening were through the roof and some fans have posted videos of their audience reactions on Twitter and Instagram which also displayed intense excitement witnessing their return. If the reactions were anything like those that Garfield and Maguire witnessed, I’m sure they had to be on cloud nine by the time the movie was over.

I also think this was a good experience for them since they didn’t really get to be involved with the film’s red carpet premiere since their involvement needed to still be a secret. This fan experience was probably more gratifying for both actors since the fan reaction was unforced and completely genuine.
