Han Solo film to be like a Western, says producer Kathleen Kennedy

So STAR WARS films will be coming out, at least once a year, until the end of time. One of these films, which sounds like the kind of STAR WARS film you'd make after you've exhausted all the good ideas, is a young Han Solo film.

Talking to Variety, super-producer Kathleen Kennedy had this to say about the upcoming Phil Lord/Christopher Miller joint:

[The film is] closer to a heist or Western type feel…we’ve talked about [Frederic] Remington and those primary colors that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film.

Hmm. That actually sounds interesting. Here are some examples of some Remington paintings for reference:

So the new HAN SOLO film is a weird one for me. On the one hand, I was never a big fan of the character, and I feel an entire movie based on him (a prequel no less) is beyond overkill. On the other hand I think Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are geniuses (LEGO MOVIE is pretty good, but I'll love them forever for creating CLONE HIGH), and the casting of Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover as Han Solo and Lando Calrissian is beyond perfect. So I don't know, I guess I'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best.

But what do you guys think? You excited about the film? Either way, sound off below!

The UNTITLED YOUNG HAN SOLO FILM will talk its way into theaters May 25th, 2018.
