Today is the day that the Franck Khalfoun-helmed remake of MANIAC stabs its way onto VOD and to celebrate we have a new behind-the-scenes featurette on the gory special effects utilized in the film courtesy Crave Online.
This new featurette comes on the heels of an earlier "Making Of" featurette that we shared with you a couple of weeks back. This latest featurette is an intense, extended look at the practical gore effects of MANIAC, featuring interviews with Elijah Wood, Alexandre Aja and director Franck Khalfoun.
Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank (Elijah Wood) is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna (Nora Arnezeder) appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank's obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
MANIAC hits VOD and selected theaters in New York today (and opens in Los Angeles next week).
