A plane crash survivor faces The Beast on a mysterious island

Lost Evangeline Lilly

Whittle the number of plane crash survivors on the television show Lost down to just one woman and it seems you'd have the set-up for the new horror thriller project THE BEAST. (That's Evangeline Lilly as Lost plane crash survivor Kate in the image above.)

THE BEAST is a spec script written by Aaron W. Sala, which The H Collective has acquired for an amount in the mid-six figures in what has been described as a "very aggressive preemptive deal". The H Collective will be fully financing the feature and producing it alongside Busted Shark Productions' Sherryl Clark, whose previous credits include CLOVERFIELD, VIRAL, and WISH UPON.

Sala's script has the following synopsis:

After a passenger plane goes down in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a woman finds herself washed ashore and the sole survivor on a mysterious island where she faces her worst fears.

Clark and The H Collective are looking to get a director and actress attached to the project as quickly as possible.

The H Collective CEO Nic Crawley had this to say about THE BEAST:

I was so enthralled by Aaron’s script that within 24 hours of reading we were aggressively pursuing the rights before it had the opportunity to be shopped around town. Aaron is truly a fantastic screenwriter and I anticipate we’re going to see much more from him."

Clark added:

THE BEAST is a crowd-pleasing genre film with a social conscience.  That combination is what got me excited about finding a like-minded home for this project. This is a tour de force performance piece for an actress in the vein of GRAVITY."

This all sounds very interesting to me. I'm looking forward to finding out who will be directing THE BEAST, and who will be starring in it.
