A Quiet Place Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP coming via Death Waltz

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Nice! It looks like Death Waltz (in conjunction with Milan Records) will be bringing us the soundtrack for co-writer/director John Krasinski's recent hit horror-thriller A QUIET PLACE on vinyl this September. The score comes to us from killer composer Marco Beltrami, whose score for Wes Craven's SCREAM is one of my favorites of all-time. His score for A QUIET PLACE is an absolute tour-de-force – it's basically another character in the film.

Co-starring Emily Blunt, the film is based on a screenplay written by Krasinski along with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck and is:

A taut and original thriller that follows a family who must navigate their lives in silence to avoid mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. Knowing that even the slightest whisper or footstep can bring death, Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and Lee (John Krasinski) are determined to find a way to protect their children at all costs while they desperately search for a way to fight back. The film earned a 95% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and generated an extraordinary $175M+ at the domestic box office.

Death Waltz's A QUIET PLACE Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP featuring music by Marco Beltrami sports cover art by Matt Ryan Tobin, and is pressed on 180 Gram Black & Red color-in-color vinyl and oused inside a 425gsm gatefold Spot Varnish jacket. The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP is now available for pre-order and will start shipping out in September 2018.

Again, I'm not the biggest fan of picking up movie soundtracks on Vinyl, but I'm going to have to shell out the cash for this release. Beltrami is one of the best horror composers out there, and without his score keeping Krasinski's film going, I'm not sure it would have been the neo-classic that it is. All due respect to Krasinski's film, of course.
