All You Need is Kill sees a green light; Tom Cruise & Emily Blunt start filming in London

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

The last we heard about Doug Liman’s ALL YOU NEED IS KILL adaptation was back in April, when the gorgeous Emily Blunt joined the film. Now even though this thing has two big names attached to star we have yet to see an official green light for the project. Well until today that is!

Deadline New York just passed on the good word that ALL YOU NEED IS KILL has officially been green-lit by Warner Bros. and will start filming in London. Tom Cruise, who just recently landed in London to start work on the film, actually started prep for ALL YOU NEED IS KILL last Friday.

Based on the 2004 Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, the story is told from the first person point of view of the protagonist Keiji Kiriya. Keiji is a new recruit in the United Defense Force, fighting against the mysterious creatures called ‘Mimics’ which have laid siege to Earth. Keiji is killed on his first sortie, but through some inexplicable phenomenon wakes up having returned to the day before the battle, only to find himself caught in a time loop as his death and resurrection repeats time and time again. Keiji’s skills as a soldier grows as he passes through the time loops trying to change his fate.

Now that things are about to get underway on ALL YOU NEED IS KILL, which stars Cruise and Blunt (below), I’m sure we can expect a lot more updates on this one soon. As always when we hear more regarding the sci-fi project you can bet we’ll be right here to tell you about it.
