American Horror Story: Coven could have a witchy companion piece

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

It worked for AMC with their "The Walking Dead" post-show companion "Talking Dead", so now FX and "American Horror Story" co-creator/showrunner Ryan Murphy are in talks to potentially do a companion series, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and FX Networks CEO John Landgraf tells THR that there's a strong chance the plan will come to fruition.

With "American Horror Story: Coven" set to premiere this October, talks are underway to create a companion piece and Landgraf noted that the network has done a "fair amount of legwork" on the potential companion, adding that it was too early to consider potential hosts for the entry. Also yet to be decided is what level of involvement Murphy would have. But Landgraf is excited by the prospect of getting the companion piece going, stating…

"I'd love to do it. We're thinking about it. If we do it I don't think we'll necessarily do it the way AMC does, as a linear thing. We might do an online thing. We haven't made a final decision but I think there's a decent possibility we're going to do something like that for Coven."

We'll keep you posted on news regarding "American Horror Story: Coven" and its possible companion piece as we hear it.

Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, and Patti Lupone star in the third season of AHS premiering this October.
