An eye-popping clip released from Rupture, starring Noomi Rapace

Rupture Steven Shainberg

The trailers for director Steven Shainberg's sci-fi thriller RUPTURE have centered on its star Noomi Rapace as an abducted woman going through an intense, nightmarish experience, but Rapace's character isn't the only one being put through the wringer in the film. There are other people who are undergoing horrific treatment at the hands of their mysterious captors, and an "eye-popping" new clip from the film introduces us to one of them.

Written by Shainberg and Brian Nelson, RUPTURE is about

Renee Morgan, a single mom who is deathly terrified of spiders. While in route to meet up with a friend, she is violently abducted by a group of strangers. After enduring intense yet strange questioning and examinations, some about her fear of spiders, Renee soon discovers that she is now the subject of an underground experiment. Her captors explain to her that she has a genetic abnormality that can potentially allow her to “rupture” and reveal her alien nature. Renee must find a way to escape before it is too late.

Rapace's co-stars include Peter Stormare, Kerry Bishe, and Michael Chiklis.

Our own Eric Walkuski wasn't overly impressed with RUPTURE when he saw it several months ago, giving it a 6/10 review, but it does look like RUPTURE will be capable of delivering a disturbing viewing experience. Here's hoping nobody will be watching the film under circumstances similar to the one in the clip below.

RUPTURE has been available for viewing exclusively through DirecTV since March 30th. A theatrical, VOD, and Digital HD release is coming up on April 28th.
