Angourie Rice to help torment Colin Farrell in The Beguiled remake

Angourie Rice

Having delivered a breakout performance in Shane Black's THE NICE GUYS, 15-year-old actress Angourie Rice has since taken part in the recently wrapped next SPIDER-MAN movie and has now signed on to join the cast of THE BEGUILED, Sofia Coppola's remake of the 1971 Clint Eastwood / Don Siegel film that The Arrow gave an 8/10 review, saying the movie will make you feel sucker punched and bitch-slapped.

Based on a novel by Thomas P. Cullian, THE BEGUILED is set during the Civil War and centers on

a wounded Union soldier who is taken into a Southern girls' academy. There, the desires of the lonely women set off a whirlwind of jealousy, hate, and lust.

Rice will be playing one of the students at the academy, with her fellow residents there set to be played by Nicole Kidman (as the Head Mistress), Kirsten Dunst (a teacher), and Elle Fanning (one of Rice's fellow students).

Earlier this year, it was reported that Coppola was looking for "a Chris Pratt type" to play the wounded soldier originally portrayed by Eastwood, and that role has since been filled by Colin Farrell. I wouldn't describe Farrell as a Pratt type, but he definitely seems like a perfect choice for a character whose allure to women gets him in trouble.
