Ash vs. Evil Dead staff writer sells a Seven-esque spec

Bryan Edward Hill has worked as a staff writer on the Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead, but it doesn't look like he has ever received a "written by" credit on one of the episodes. Maybe his time is coming in the third season of the show, which will begin airing this fall. Regardless, one thing he'll definitely be getting a writing credit on is a supernatural horror project from Voltage Pictures and Prime Universe Films. Those companies just acquired a spec script written by Hill that is described as being like David Fincher's 1995 thriller SEVEN, but "with a female protagonist".

This project doesn't currently have a title, so I guess we'll be calling it "Female Seven" for now.

"SEVEN with a female protagonist" is also all that has been revealed about the plot at this point, which doesn't give us much at all to work with – it's not like the killer is going to be picking victims based on the Seven Deadly Sins, so we can't even run with that. Still, the description is enough to catch attention.

Voltage will be finacing the film based on Hill's spec, with Nicholas Chartier, Ara Keshishian, Adrian Askarieh, and Giulio Marantonio producing. Hill serves as executive producer.

The search is now on for a director who might be able to live up to what Fincher did with SEVEN, and the producers are hoping to cast a female lead who has "a significant name".

Since SEVEN starred Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie comes to mind…
