BEETLEJUICE (1988) Tim Burton, Michael Keaton – Show Me The Sequel!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Thirty-two years have passed by since the release of director Tim Burton's ghoulish comedy BEETLEJUICE (watch it HERE, or buy a copy HERE), and even though there have been rumors of a sequel off and on for decades – there's even a script floating around out there for a sequel that would have been called BEETLEJUICE GOES HAWAIIAN – we still haven't gotten any sort of follow-up. So now we're going to get demanding about it. The new episode of our SHOW ME THE SEQUEL video series, embedded above, is all about our need for BEETLEJUICE 2!

Here's the SHOW ME THE SEQUEL series synopsis:

The focus of this show is all about genre films that either never got sequels and we feel it's long overdue, fine movies that did get sequels but they were so lackluster that going back to square one is a must, or… flicks that DO have sequels but hey, we want freaking MORE of them! On top of that, we put our pitch for what said sequel should be about!

SHOW ME THE SEQUEL is written and narrated by Pat Q, edited by Edward Clark, Produced by John Fallon, and Berge Garabedian is the Executive Producer.

Just in case you've been missing out on BEETLEJUICE for all these years, the synopsis goes like this:

What’s a yuppie ghost couple to do when their quaint New England home is overrun by trendy New Yorkers? They hire a freelance ‘bio-exorcist’ to spook the intruders. And everyone gets more than he, she or it bargained for!

Director Tim Burton teams with Michael Keaton. The result? ‘Keaton’s Beetlejuice is one of the biggest, baddest wolves a ghost movie has ever unleashed, a polter-gas’ (The Village Voice). He’s a juggernaut of jokes, jolts and jive who hurls one-liners, spins into grotesque forms, gobbles insects and can’t leave ladies (living or dead) alone.

So exorcise your right to fun. Say the ‘B’ word three times and have a wonderful Day-O!

Written by Michael McDowell and Warren Skaaren from a story McDowell crafted with Larry Wilson, the film stars Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O'Hara, and Winona Ryder.

The premiere episode of SHOW ME THE SEQUEL was about SEVEN, and you can check that out below.  This is one of many shows we have on the JoBlo Horror Videos YouTube channel, so give the channel a look and subscribe while you're there!
