Blumhouse Productions will take terror to the peak with Free Fall

One of the most popular names in horror today is Blumhouse Productions, the company founded by Jason Blum (pictured above) that has been behind such films as PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, INSIDIOUS, SINISTER, and THE PURGE. Just added to their slate is the survival thriller FREE FALL, which Blumhouse will produce with Madhouse Entertainment (SAFE HOUSE, PRISONERS).

The synopsis:

When a man joins his estranged daughter on a mountain climb in an attempt to repair their relationship, a tragic accident leaves them stranded hundreds of feet in the air. As a storm sets in, the two must fight against the elements and terrifying heights in order to survive.

FREE FALL was written by Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker, a pair whose first produced screenplay was for the 2013 Dark Castle movie GETAWAY. They seem to like writing stories about two characters in a desperate situation; GETAWAY was two people stuck in a car, now they've put two people on a mountain.

FREE FALL has the potential to make for quite an intense viewing experience, it will be interesting to see who ends up directing and who gets cast as the father and daughter.

GETAWAY star Selena Gomez
