Blumhouse’s Halloween coming to IMAX for one week

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As we all know by this point in time, Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green's direct sequel to John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN hit theaters this past weekend. It totally killed it at the box-office, and I've heard many people agreeing that the new movie is the best of the series – other than, of course, Carpenter's original classic. And if you were a fan of the new film then you'll want to make sure and take note of today's news. We just heard from the powers that be over at IMAX that Gordon Green's sequel will be playing in IMAX theaters for one week starting this Friday, October 26th.

This news is all good, I suppose. I'm just a little upset that this flick is getting the IMAX treatment due to "popular demand" but Stephen King's IT – a film which would have been MUCH cooler on the epically big screen – didn't get such treatment. At least not in my neck of the woods. Oh, well. Will you be making time to go check out Blumhouse's HALLOWEEN (yet again) on the massive IMAX screen? Let us know below!

Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Jeff Fradley, and Danny McBride, Blumhouse's HALLOWEEN follows this synopsis:

It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Ill. — but this time, she's ready for him.

The new direct sequel stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, and Virginia Gardner with stuntman James Jude Courtney and, of course, original The Shape-star Nick Castle as Michael Myers. HALLOWEEN is now playing at a theater near you and starts playing for one week in an IMAX near you starting this Friday, October 26th.
