Cassandra Peterson developing an animated Elvira TV series

I was lucky to grow up in a time and place when it was rather easy to find a horror host show on broadcast television. Although not as prevalent as they once were, horror hosts are still out there, especially on the internet, and one of them who is still going strong is one who I watched often as a child; Elvira, the hostess with the mostest, the busty horror-meets-Valley-Girl character created by Cassandra Peterson in 1981.

In addition to hosting ELVIRA'S MOVIE MACABRE, the character has been featured in comic books and computer games and starred in two feature films - 1988's ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK and 2001's ELVIRA'S HAUNTED HILLS. During an appearance at the recent Boston Comic Con, Peterson (now 63 and still looking great) announced that she is currently developing a television series that will continue the adventures of Elvira in animated form. Not many details are available, but Peterson said that the cartoon will pick up after the events of MISTRESS OF THE DARK.

I say the more Elvira there is in the world, the better the world is, so I would love to see this series make it to the screen.

Peterson also mentioned that she's working on writing her autobiography, but said that it's going slowly and joked that it will turn out to be longer than the Bible.
