JOHN WICK / JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 director Chad Stahelski is clearly dedicated to bringing us badass action films. While gearing up to direct a third JOHN WICK film, Stahelski is also attached to helm a remake of HIGHLANDER, recently signed on to direct the Ed Brubaker adaptation KILL OR BE KILLED (about a man who is forced to kill someone for every month he lives), and now looks set to take on SANDMAN SLIM, based on a series of novels written by Richard Kadrey.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY's Kerry Williamson is currently working on writing an adaptation of the first SANDMAN SLIM novel, which centers on

James “Sandman Slim” Stark, a fast talking, hard-boiled, supernatural vigilante who escapes from Hell to avenge his girlfriend’s murder and hunt down the magicians responsible for getting him sent “downtown.”

Kel Symons previously wrote a draft of the script. The first book in the SANDMAN SLIM series has been described as a blend of tough guy noir with RE-ANIMATOR and ARMY OF DARKNESS. Putting Stahelski in charge of something that already sounds that cool seems like a great decision to me.

SANDMAN SLIM is being produced by Josh Lesher, Patrick Walmsley, and Julie Yorn. Chris Goldberg and Rishi Rajani are overseeing the project for Studio 8.

There are currently nine books in Kadrey's series. If you'd like to order a copy of the first book, you can do so at this link.
