Check out the fancy title treatment for the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones adaptation

Truth be told I could care less about this whole MORTAL INSTRUMENTS thing. I mean isn’t just another TWILIGHT SAGA? So you can see why I’m not getting my hopes up.

Last we heard about the project, which will be titled MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES, Jonathan Rhys Meyers was the latest to sign on. Other cast for the adaptation includes Lily Collins, Jemima West, Jamie Campbell Bower, Lena Headey, Jared Harris, Kevin Durand, Robert Maillet, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, CCH Pounder, Aidan Turner and Godfrey Gao.

Now I know I said I could care less about this thing, and I stand by that, but I’ve got to say this newly released title treatment for the flick is actually pretty solid stuff. It’s nothing too crazy, but just the right amount of character. You can go ahead and tap that shite directly below courtesy of Collider.

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.

Coming from director Harold Zwart, MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES isn’t set to hit theaters until August 23, 2013 so I’m sure a lot more updates on this thing will be rolling our way soon.
