It's been quite some time since we heard anything from Jake Helgren's upcoming slasher VARSITY BLOOD, with our last report coming way back in February of last year when we shared some stills from the flick. Today we're bringing you something to cheer about as we've gotten our hands on the new trailer for the film as well as the info on when you can finally check this one out. So ladies, break out your pom-poms, and fellas – it's time to throw on your letterman jackets. We're in for one bloody good time!

VARSITY BLOOD is set to hit DVD on August 19 from Image Entertainment (pre-order that badboy right HERE), and below you'll find the artwork as well as the new trailer for the film.

A pack of muscle-headed small town jocks and their bouncy cheerleader girlfriends share a dark secret – and they're about to share a whole lot more.

It's Halloween, and they've got every reason to go wild. Heading out to a remote farmhouse for a night of booze and bad behaviour, they soon find more than they've bargained for in the shape of their team mascot, an Indian warrior wielding a lethal fighting axe. One by one they will fall victim to a killer who is about to learn: A dead cheerleader can be pretty… bloody.

It's not just the game this team is about to lose… it's their lives.
