So this sounds interesting! THR reports that Universal is developing a new creature feature horror-thriller based on the real life "Cocaine Bear" – appropriately-titled Cocaine Bear – to be directed by none other than Elizabeth Banks (Charlie's Angels)!

Here's the history of the famous bear, according to the article:

The true story, as reported in 1985 by the New York Times, was that a 175-pound black bear consumed the contents of a duffle bag filled with over 70 pounds of cocaine that was dropped from an airplane by a local drug smuggler, Andrew Thornton. The bear was later found dead of an apparent drug overdose.

However, the exact plot details for the film, which is eyeing a summer shoot date, are being kept under wraps. But we'll keep you updated!

So what do you guys think? Are you aware of the original "Cocaine Bear"? If so, looking forward to a serious thriller based on it? Either way, sound off below!
