Yesterday I labeled Danny Trejo a lucky bastard for being surrounded by hotties, including Jessica Alba, Amber Heard and Michelle Rodriguez (okay, maybe a stretch) on his latest venture, and now I must call him out for being a mega-bastard, based on the breaking news that sultry Sofia Vergara has joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE KILLS!
Vergara, who can currently be seen slaying the English language in the popular sitcom “Modern Family,” as well as THE THREE STOOGES and about eight thousand commercials, is in talks to play the leather-clad Madame Desdemona, whose Mexican harlots have information that Machete needs.
That does not sound like an unappealing proposition, if I do say so myself.
Production on the sequel begins this month in Austin, Texas. 20th Century Fox will distribute next year.
MACHETE KILLS, which also stars Mel Gibson and Demian Bichir, Machete (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer (Gibson) who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.
